Versatility: Three Wavelengths
The Astanza Trinity delivers three full-powered wavelengths – 532 nm, 694 nm, and 1064 nm – to give effective treatments for the complete range of tattoo colors.
The Trinity’s Nd:YAG laser produces light at 1064nm through exciting the atoms of a Neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet crystal. This wavelength is highly effective at treating dark tattoos but allows for minimal absorption by melanin. This means that tattoo ink will shatter and that patients of all skin types will see minimal disruption of skin tone.
The 1064nm light is then passed through a KTP crystal to produce what is called “frequency-doubled” 532nm light. This light, which appears green, is effective at addressing tattoo ink of a complementary color – in this case red, orange, and yellow.
The Trinity’s ruby laser produces light at 694nm through exciting the atoms of a ruby crystal. This wavelength is highly effective at treating rare, resistant shades of blue and green that cannot be completely removed by the Nd:YAG wavelengths alone. The ruby laser is also very good at treating resistant black ink and pigmented lesions on all skin tones.
Nd:YAG and ruby lasers have been used in aesthetic applications for over two decades, but it is the precise way that the energy is produced, pulsed, and delivered through Astanza tattoo removal technology that makes the difference for the Trinity system.
Power: Active Q-Switching
Active Q-switching is the only technology for the production of the high levels of energy needed for effective tattoo ink shattering in later treatment stages. Actively Q-switched devices produce laser energy in incredibly brief, powerful pulses that are specifically useful for tattoo removal.
Because the pulses are so intensely powerful, they can heat up the tattoo ink and effectively shatter it; because the pulses are so brief, minimal damage occurs to surrounding tissue.
Both laser components of the Trinity are actively Q-switched for top-of-the-line peak power levels.
Durability: Unique Beam Delivery
The Trinity system, incorporating the Duality and the Eternity, is the most durable Nd:YAG/Ruby solution available. The key to durability is the Trinity’s unique beam delivery.
Other combination systems use one set of optics or fibers to deliver all three wavelengths. For these other devices, the high intensity beams from the separate Nd:YAG and ruby lasers sharing a single delivery path creates burned optics and broken fibers – which means lower treatment efficacy and higher maintenance costs.
Because the Astanza Trinity features two independent laser deliveries (two separate articulated arms), the optics last significantly longer and provide more effective treatments for increased patient satisfaction.
Speed: High Repetition Rates
The Astanza Trinity system features the fastest repetition rates available for laser tattoo removal– for both the Nd:YAG and ruby lasers.
With 10 pulses per second for 1064nm and 532nm wavelengths and 2 pulses per second for the 694nm wavelength, the Trinity offers practitioners the tools for faster treatment times – which contributes to patient comfort and clinic efficiency.
Safety: Advanced Beam Profiles
The Trinity features two beam shapes: square for Nd:YAG wavelengths, oval for ruby wavelengths. Both shapes are useful for minimizing overlap between pulses for faster, safer tattoo removal treatments.
Both laser beams are homogenized to create even energy distribution on the skin, without dangerous “hot spots.” These homogenized, flat-top beams allow the laser to treat areas with the same level of intensity, allowing for greater precision and a reduced need for overlap. Homogenized beams create better patient comfort and a diminished risk of scarring.
Convenience: Articulated Arms
Both the Duality and Eternity components of the Trinity system feature articulated arms, the preferred method of beam delivery by laser tattoo removal practitioners. Articulated arms transfer higher levels of energy without the breakage associated with fiber beam delivery methods.
